PULSE EMITTER
bio
Pulse Emitter (Daryl Groetsch from Portland, Oregon) began working with synthesizers while in music school in the 90's and took the Pulse Emitter name in 2003, creating synthesizer pads and patterns which drift through cosmic and nature settings. A veteran of the noise scene of the mid 2000s, the music has returned to something more melodic and layered in recent years. David Keenan has said "No one is making synth music that feels so organic, so rapturous and so ‘in tune’ with the contours of outer and inner space as Groetsch."

Pulse Emitter is the project of Portland, Oregon programming master Daryl Groetsch, and over the years has produced a fantastic variety of modular mayhem both turbulent and soothing, utilizing a bank of home-made synths and electronics. Deep space explorations worthy of Hawkwind, precise, controlled soundbombing akin to the most broken Throbbing Gristle moments and more. -Brian Turner, WFMU
Nice guys finish last, and Daryl Groetsch is a real nice guy. That means he gets no fucking respect. But it also means he’ll be there when everyone else is washed-out and tossed-up. Prolific - but not ridiculously so - Groetsch releases a steady stream of unrelentingly-progressive works under his synth moniker Pulse Emitter, wielding a commitment to instrument and aesthetic like a martial artist in the face of so many Ultimate Noise Fighter goons. There is no championship, only survival and self-betterment. -Animal Psi
